fyi gordon I just copied and pasted the ec_anon folder in the e-commerce module folder then I refreshed my site using my browser and boom it's enabled by default. (Or it might be because I enabled it just before I got an error and so drupal kept that information).

Anyways dumb me I should now better than not to follow procedure and i'm really sorry for taking your time, thanks a whole bunch!
