Hi gg24, I checked your issue. I do not think it is an issue. i followed the same steps you mentioned and i am able to see home link in breadcrumb.
It will not show in only one condition when you check this checkbox in advance settings -> Hide link to home page if it's the only breadcrumb item
You can check code as well where you made changes it clearly shows you will enter in that if condition when this checkbox is checked. so its working as designed it's not an issue so changing it's status.
